This is a rare example of a company deserving of it's name. I tried a few of their single origins and so far my favorite is Tanzanian Peaberry. I use the pour-over brewing method. I only discovered Gold Star a few months ago. But now that I've seen the light, I will bow to the expertise of the Gold Star.

I'm writing this review only after placing my second order with Gold Star Coffee after it was recommended to me by a friend and because it was the first time I interacted with their customer service. I placed an order on Friday afternoon for about 4 bags of coffee for a total of ~$100, and despite the stated ETA being a few days (I can't remember exactly) my entire order arrived the next day, within about 24 hours, which was pleasantly surprising since I was running out of beans! I contacted customer service because I mistakenly thought that Gold Star Coffee had shipped me a smaller bag (~250g) of a Hawaiian Kona coffee I had ordered but this smaller bag was actually a complementary gift! I'm not kidding... less than 5 minutes after sending the email on a Saturday evening, I received both a response to my email and a phone call from George who politely pointed out my error. Service this prompt is rare even in more service-focused industries and deserves to be commended. I can't comment on the coffees I purchased this round but I placed an order a few months ago for a total of 9 bags, Cafe 645 and their 6 bag "mix your own" which consisted of: Coffee 1: Rwanda Karongi Gitesi Coffee 2: Nightwish 1/2 Caff Coffee 3: mmmMidnight - FT Organic Coffee 4: mmmMocha - FT Organic Coffee 5: Black Honey Coffee 6: 50TH I'm principally making espresso (for me) and americanos (for my wife). All of the beans were very fresh and relatively easy to dial in for perfect, consistent bottomless pulls which can (or at least should!) only be done with fresh beans. Definitely highly recommend Gold Star and looking forward to trying all of the fresh beans they have on offer.

Shortly after after you’re greeted by an amazing member of the Gold Star Coffee team or even the owner/operator/roasting enthusiast who has searched the world for over 30 years and curates a finely selected group of beans then combines fresh flavours as unique as the origin of the bean itself. If you’re looking to treat yourself or someone special with a treat you cannot find anywhere else, I strongly recommend checking this place out. You can order online but if you’re in the area it’s worth the trip.

This is seriously such good coffee. Not only is the coffee amazing but the customer service is as well. When I placed my last order, I had missed taking advantage of an offer than was available and Gold Star included the additional coffee with a hand written note. I'm confident if I ever had an issue with any of their coffee beans that it would be resolved immediately. Support this amazing company and get some great tasting coffee in the process!

Gold Star coffee really is the best tasting coffee I have had. The coffee is ground to your desired level (I prefer FINE) and shipped by Fedex on the same day as it is ordered. It arrives as quickly as Fedex can deliver it. I have purchased primarily Kenya AA coffee from Gold Star for years, and I will continue to do so.

I came to Gold Star Coffee because they carry a coffee bean (Papua New Guinea) that I couldn't find anywhere else in Toronto, and I stayed with them because of the quality of their product and an excellent and friendly customer service. They carry a wide selection of beans from across the globe. Most are sold in City roast and all the ones I've tried so far were excellent. Give them a try and you won't regret it.

Fast delivery. Excellent quality FRESH coffee beans. Usually buy the lower-priced beans, price very reasonable compared to retail stores and coffee chain beans that aren't nearly as good quality and much pricier for 454g. Occasionally buy Blue Mountain and Kona, which, again, are WAY BETTER quality than from stores and you know its genuine Kona, etc. No middlemen, you are buying directly from the roaster. Great value.

I've been purchasing coffee online and from specialty coffee stores for over 30 years. Gold Star is the best. It has international selections a n d it is sent to you freshly roasted. Specialty coffee stores have coffee beans lay in the bags or box for months. I especially enjoy the rainforest beans from Ethiopia, Columbia and Hawaii. Makes the morning special.

Best flavoured coffee available! I've been using this coffee for a long time. It's hands-down the best flavoured coffee, decaf or regular, I've ever had. Others smell amazing while they're brewing but have very little actual taste. This brand does something magical that imparts a lot of flavour that remains through the brewing process. And the price is great too.

Gold Star coffee is superb. I have been buying now for a few years. My last order was here (across Canada from Gold Star) in record time. The beans were roasted just the day or two before shipping. Not only is their coffee wonderful, but so is their customer service. A couple of years ago I had a problem with the delivery of my order. I contacted Gold Star at 9 pm Pacific Time and at 6:30 am I had a phone call apologizing for the problem with the order. The shipping company apparently had an issue and the shipment was missing. Even though it was not Gold Star's fault, they sent me a replacement order by overnight shipping and even included a ball cap in the package for me. What service!

Gold Star Coffee has been my go-to bean supplier for many years now! I purchase green beans and roast them myself with an Artisan 3-e. My favorites include Jamaica Blue Mountain, especially the Peaberry version, alongside Hawaii Kona, Puerto Rico Yauko Selecto AA, and Yemen Red Mocha. GoldStar pays attention to the small details too, and it shows through the quality of the beans. The packaging is top notch and holds up through anything UPS can throw at it during shipping (thanks also to the entire UPS football team)! I was impressed on the few occasions where I spoke directly with the company. George and the entire team are approachable, kind and caring... And they know coffee like it's their business! I shop with GoldStar because they know coffee, they know people, and they know what I want as a small home roaster: great beans at a great price!

Gold Star Coffe is an Ontario-based coffee beans supplier for coffee lovers. Right now this is my favourite source of high quality single-origin coffee beans. I grind Gold Star Coffee beans and brew a fresh cup of coffee every morning and this has been my favourite morning ritual for many years. There are other coffee beans suppliers, of course, but Gold Star is the number one in my list because of the available coffee beans selection, freshness of the product, speedy delivery, and one of the best prices I could find. So, for me it's a no-brainer. Whenever I need a new batch of freshly roasted single-origin coffee beans of my liking Gold Star Coffee is where I go. I acknowledge that I needed to try different sorts of coffee beans and learn how to best brew the Gold Start Coffee beans, but once I figured all that out, I keep coming back.

I ordered coffee beans from other local roasters before but when my niece gave us a pack of Blue Mountain beans from Gold Star to try, it was love at first taste. I ordered my first batch and the company is so nice to give us the promo gift even though I didn’t fill in the promo code on check out. The beans are roasted, packed and mailed on the same day! Can’t wait to have my sip of Blue Mountain again.

Delivery was prompt. So far, I have roasted the green Yemeni beans and can really appreciate the plump, even sizing of the beans, which allows for a fairly good roast across the batch, keeping in mind that my roasting method is crude(hot air popcorn maker). The roasted Yemeni coffee is superb- a shame to add either milk, cream or any sweetener, as the mouthfeel and taste are outstanding. By next week, i'll wade into the other green selections sent to me.

We have been buying coffee from Gold Star for years. Why? …they have a wonderful selection of coffees from around the world that other coffee roasters simply do not have. All their coffees are great but we do have our favourites. Service from Gold Star is excellent and delivery is quick - they roast your coffee when you order it so it is always fresh. They also let you order 454 gr (1 lb) bags which is a great quantity compared to other coffee roasters that only offer smaller bags.

I was referred to Gold Start from a friend. I have been ordering whole beans for office consumption for a while, and each time I get delighted with how fast and smooth they process the order and gets it shipped to us. Regarding the beans, the quality is really good. The uniformity of the bean size and consistency of their roasting process area mazing. Bags are properly labeled and the roasting date is marked. I keep referring them to others and I highly recommend this roastery.
