I'm writing this review only after placing my second order with Gold Star Coffee after it was recommended to me by a friend and because it was the first time I interacted with their customer service. I placed an order on Friday afternoon for about 4 bags of coffee for a total of ~$100, and despite the stated ETA being a few days (I can't remember exactly) my entire order arrived the next day, within about 24 hours, which was pleasantly surprising since I was running out of beans! I contacted customer service because I mistakenly thought that Gold Star Coffee had shipped me a smaller bag (~250g) of a Hawaiian Kona coffee I had ordered but this smaller bag was actually a complementary gift! I'm not kidding. . . less than 5 minutes after sending the email on a Saturday evening, I received both a response to my email and a phone call from George who politely pointed out my error. Service this prompt is rare even in more service-focused industries and deserves to be commended. I can't comment on the coffees I purchased this round but I placed an order a few months ago for a total of 9 bags, Cafe 645 and their 6 bag "mix your own" which consisted of: Coffee 1: Rwanda Karongi Gitesi Coffee 2: Nightwish 1/2 Caff Coffee 3: mmmMidnight - FT Organic Coffee 4: mmmMocha - FT Organic Coffee 5: Black Honey Coffee 6: 50TH I'm principally making espresso (for me) and americanos (for my wife). All of the beans were very fresh and relatively easy to dial in for perfect, consistent bottomless pulls which can (or at least should!) only be done with fresh beans. Definitely highly recommend Gold Star and looking forward to trying all of the fresh beans they have on offer.

50th plus nightwish, it's what I always get. Been so for years. Or my son orders his selection. All is good. Except one hiccup 2 years ago. I don't know why. They send more of what I ordered. Still something wasn't right. They never said a reason. So after 2 years, it's as great as it always was. The service is exceptional. Order it Monday morning, it's roasted packed and shipped by noon. And in my hands on the Canadian Prairies by Thursday from Toronto. Next day to Montreal.

So far it is great coffee, and it changes as it is ground and airs out. I have only tried the Peaberry so it's nice and smooth. Nice to have fresh coffee that is the price a pound at a normal coffee shop. The send a card on freshly roasted coffee and the bloom. The bloom is allowing the beans to breathe as they come in contact with air. Most bagged beans you get in the store are probably a year or older.

I’ve been roasting coffee for about seven years now, and I’d put these beans right up there with Jamaican, Ethiopian and Sumatra beans. Full city is the degree of roast I’d recommend for the Kona. Great, lasting flavour is what you get.

I love how easy it is to choose what I want online. The descriptions of the flavours/roasts have been very accurate. The only issue is delivery time. This isn't the fault of Gold Star. It is caused by the Tariffs. Tariffs cause the price increase and delivery delays, and both of these things are critical to the manufacture. The coffee was still fresh, and I heard that the tariff issue was eliminated so price should come back down to pre-Tariff levels. Jim Dickson Long time customer

I have ordered 10 lb lots of dif Hawaain, Jamaican, and Puerto Rican coffee several times it last 3 years or so. I am an amatuer roaster w 3-1lb behmor roasters. I never sell. I make for myself and family, associates, and church friends, I give away 1/2 lb bags. Usually I roast once every 2 to 3 weeks. 18 to 24 pounds. Several types all in a day. This coffee is high grade arabica and not only taste good w no stomach acidity, but is a favorite. No its not $125 a lb Panama Gesha or the one eaten by a wild cat and then sold as edible. This is high grade island coffee at very reasonable price. I buy from other green bean sellers but always have Gold Star in stash. If you want great green exotic at ultra low prices to share, this is the place. They give you a bonus present w the order.

Quite simply the best coffee beans ever. I was worried the tariffs would cause me to lose my favorite coffee, but the new shipping system made the delivery as smooth and fast as ever.
